Housing First has spent decades working to prove that stable housing saves lives and money. The National Low Income Housing Coalition found through multiple studies that compared to traditional models, Housing First programs decreased homelessness by 88% and improved housing stability by 41%. Specifically in Massachusetts, clients in stable housing experienced better quality of life and showed reduced hospitalization and emergency department use.
